Keeping our Wetlands thriving

Conserving and protecting our Wetlands has never been more important. Species preservation, flood protection and water purity, the benefits they provide impact us all and it is essential we protect them now for our future generations.

We have a good selection of Wetland species here at Minginui Nursery with some such as Harakeke Flax Phormium tenax, Pukio,Carex secta, and Manuka, Leptospermum scoparium available in T28 containers. Ti kouka,Cordyline australis, Manatu,Plagianthus regius and Kahikatea,Dacrycarpus dacrydiodes all enjoy growing in damp environments and provide interest, structure, height, and contrast to wetland plantings.

A wetland restoration project can definitely be rewarding, but plant selection, spacing, maintenance etc. can all be confusing and it can be difficult to know where to start. Regional Councils provide lots of information online to help with planning wetland projects and as always feel free to contact us for advice and help sourcing plants
