Makura, Carex virgata is a fast-growing,  sedge found in swampy areas forming large clumps.  Similar to Pukio, Makura is shorter and more tolerable of very wet to dry conditions.

Slightly weeping evergreen bright green narrow leaves and brown seed heads. Carex virgata is suitable for wetland planting and stream edges.
